Staff in Westgate, Dundee, Scotland are holding two events to raise funds for their Malawi twin – Zingwangwa, Blantyre. They are holding a Malawi lunch where doctors, nurses and reception staff will eat a traditional Malawian meal. Proceeds from the lunch will go to help Zingwangwa maintain its internet link. In May, all the staff at Westgate are going on a sponsored walk in the Scottish Highlands. This will involve a climb of a local mountain and low level walks. Again, money raised through sponsorship will go to Zingwangwa.

We are also going to have a Zumba class to raise some money. Zumba is a dance exercise to latin style music and is all about feeling the music and enjoy the dance and exercise. Hopfully lots of the staff at Westgate will come along and enjoy. Kim

this is a good development! wud u also teach us to be fishermen unlike feeding on already caught fish. this will help other health centres like mpemba, chilomoni, bangwe etc surviving from internet interruptions. probably phase two has a lot which will involve internet users in these health centres to source funds for their internet.
Thanks Chris for your comment. Indeed we Malawians should emulate our Scottish counterparts in looking for possible ways to sustain important projects like this one by doing something for ourselves instead of waiting for others to assist.
